1. Understanding the Pour Over Method:
Pour over coffee brewing is a manual technique that allows you to have complete control over the brewing process. It involves pouring hot water over coffee grounds, allowing the water to extract the flavors and aromas, resulting in a clean and nuanced cup of coffee. With that being said, no matter what brew method you choose, you'll need a good water-to-coffee ratio. We recommend somewhere in between 1:14 to 1:20. That means for every 1 gram of coffee you will want to use somewhere between 14 to 20 ounces of water. The stronger you like you coffee, the less water you'll want to use so if that sounds like you start with 1:14.

2. Choosing the Right Equipment:
To get started, you'll need a few essential tools. Invest in a high-quality pour over dripper, such as the Hario V60 or Chemex, which are popular choices among coffee aficionados. These drippers have a unique design that promotes optimal extraction.

3. Selecting the Perfect Beans:
The quality of your coffee beans plays a crucial role in the final taste of your brew. Opt for freshly roasted beans from reputable sources, like INVICTA COFFEE CO :) Experiment with different origins and roast levels to find your preferred flavor profile.

4. Grinding the Beans:
Grinding your coffee beans just before brewing ensures maximum freshness and flavor. Use a burr grinder to achieve a consistent grind size. For pour over coffee, a medium-fine grind is generally recommended.

5. Preparing the Water:
Water quality greatly affects the taste of your coffee. Use filtered water to eliminate any impurities that might alter the flavor. Heat the water to around 200°F (93°C), just below boiling point, for optimal extraction.

6. Blooming the Coffee:
Before starting the main pour, it's essential to bloom the coffee. This step involves pouring a small amount of hot water over the grounds, allowing them to release trapped gases. This process enhances the extraction and flavor.

7. The Pouring Technique:
Begin pouring the hot water in a slow, circular motion, starting from the center and moving outward. Maintain a steady flow, ensuring all the grounds are evenly saturated. Avoid pouring too quickly, as it may result in over-extraction.

8. Patience is Key:
Pour over brewing requires patience. Take your time and enjoy the process. Allow the water to fully extract the flavors from the coffee grounds. The ideal brew time for pour over coffee is typically between 2-4 minutes.

9. Serving and Enjoying:
Once the brewing is complete, remove the dripper and pour your freshly brewed coffee into your favorite Invicta Coffee mug. Take a moment to appreciate the aroma and savor the flavors. Feel free to add milk, sweetener, or any other desired additions to suit your taste.

Congratulations! You are now equipped with the knowledge to master the art of pour over coffee brewing. By following these steps, you'll be able to enjoy a consistently delicious cup of coffee that will impress even the most discerning coffee connoisseurs. Remember, practice makes progress, so don't be discouraged if your first attempts aren't homeruns. With time and experience, you'll refine your technique and develop your own unique brewing style.
